Celebrate summer with a scrumptious picnic and guided walk amongst our famed wildflower meadows with our resident plant folklore guru Nick Gray.

Join us for special guided walk at Kingcombe Meadows Nature Reserve amongst our famed wildflowers.  This will be light hearted amble where you can learn about the fantastic array of local folklore relating the flowers and plants.  It will culminate in a delicious summer picnic in the nature reserve (weather permitting) where you can kick back and enjoy the sounds, smells and colours of summer. 


Nick Gray is Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Conservation Officer in West Dorset. He lives and breathes wild flower meadow restoration and never misses an opportunity to mention Yellow Rattle.  Having started his conservation career on Flat Holm Island in the Bristol Channel, he has worked on grassland projects, bird surveys and land management advice for over 20 years including spells on Purbeck, the Pennines, the Mendip Hills and Western Ireland. He has a Masters degree in Rural Resource Management and a keen interest in plant folklore.

£30 pp (Adult) / £15 pp (Child - u 16)    includes morning tea, guided activities and lunch
Arrive from 10.30am for morning tea, walk will start at 11am.  Finish approx 2.30pm
What to bring:  
As you will be outside please bring suitable clothing, wet weather jackets (just in case!),
good walking shoes.  If you have a picnic blanket please bring it along.
