The process of dyeing with indigo is magical. Learn to stitch and manipulate fabric to resist the dye (called shibori) creating beautiful patterns on fabric. During this one day workshop, you will create small pieces plus enough fabric for a cushion cover, bag or hanging to take home. Or if you are a quilter or card maker you may want to make many smaller pieces to add that something special to your quilts or cards.
Practice the many shibori techniques that you may have read about in books. It is so much easier to learn by doing it under the expert guidance of Annabel who uses shibori to create her beautiful hangings of plant and landscape images. An enjoyment of sewing is helpful. The day is suitable for all levels of ability. Included are the materials you will need but please bring along any design ideas or cotton/silk fabrics you want to try out.
