About the event

Kate will use her years of experience as a wildlife gardener, author and journalist to help you learn about and create that perfect wildlife-friendly garden.  The day will involve a demonstration in support of the ‘Get Dorset Buzzing campaign’, where Kate will demonstrate how to use and care for a bee hotel.  She will then take you on a tour of the wildlife garden at Kingcombe, pointing out the best plants for pollinators and other easy wildlife-friendly habitats you can create at home.

There will then be the opportunity to enjoy a splendid three course dinner in the main barn at the Kingcombe Centre, while Kate reads an extract from her latest book, The Bumblebee Flies Anyway and talks about the garden that inspired it.  In the book Kate describes the transformation of a tiny decked patio into a beautiful wildlife oasis and all the wildlife that returns to it.  There will be the opportunity to ask questions.
