Wed 19 Oct 2016

Create your own needle felt acorns, conkers, leaves or fungi using the seasonal colours and inspiration of autumn.
Needle felting involves using barbed felting needles to repeatedly stab wool fibres together to form solid three dimensional forms. On this one day workshop Carla will teach you the different techniques of building individual base shapes, joining them together using only felting needles and wool, and then adding layers to finish your sculpture. On this workshop we will focus on creating woodland inspired sculptures including conkers, acorns, leaves or even fungi which could be incorporated into garlands, pin cushions or simple stand alone sculptures to bring a special handmade design to your own home interiors.
Included are the base materials you will need including needle, pad and wool.

Comments from previous courses:
Thoroughly enjoyed the needle felting workshop. The newly renovated barn where it was held is great and the lunch provided was, as always, delicious. This is the second workshop I have attended in the beautiful setting of the Kingcombe Centre and I will be browsing the course listing for the next one - Judith.
I thoroughly enjoyed the felting course, our tutor Carla was excellent, explaining the process fully, discussing all the types of wool that can be used and their different properties, coming to each of us during the day making sure we were happy with what we were doing and offering advice as and when necessary - Helen.
