Join wild food and booze extraordinaire John Wright who will guide you through the joys of creating wild plant infusions and summer cocktails with plenty of tastings along the way!

With John Wright

Sat 20 Jun 2015

There are not many people who haven’t heard of the quintessential infusion sloe gin!  Yet making a wild plant infusion can be so much more, while taking on the intoxicating perfume of summer too.  On this special event, John will lead you on a foray into Kingcombe Meadows to teach you the joys of identifying the incredible range of plants that can create fantastic summer drinks. From the delicate rosa rugosa to the wild herbs and grasses.

Back at the centre, John will teach you the simple techniques of infusing fruits, flowers and vegetables, and turning these into wild plant infusions.  He’ll then show the art of creating your very own summer cocktails!

What better way to spend a long summer afternoon than sipping fantastic cocktails with a special dinner?

John Wright Profile
John Wright is one of the country’s leading authorities on foraging for food and is the author of the bestseller ‘The River Cottage Booze Handbook’ which covers the world of making beer, wine, cider  and of course infusions.  As well as writing for national publications, he often appears on the River Cottage series for Channel 4. He gives lectures on natural history and every year he takes around fifty 'forays' showing people how to collect food; plants from the hedgerow, seaweed and shellfish from the shore and mushrooms from pasture and wood. Over a period of twenty years he has taken around five hundred such forays. He lives in rural West Dorset with his wife and two teenage daughters.
