Create your own unique woodland squirrel inspired by a beautiful array of autumnal coloured wools.
Love wool? Then you’ll love needle felting! Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the techniques of needle felting. This technique uses special barbed needles to repeatedly stab and sculpt wool fibres together to create 2&3d forms, transforming beautiful loose sheep’s fleece into your own unique woodland squirrel.
On this one day workshop Carla will guide you through the basic techniques of needle felting as well as sharing with you lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way. You will learn how to build individual shapes along with the advanced techniques of working around wire, joining shapes together, and using felting needles and your hands to mould, shape and sculpt the wool.
By the end of the workshop you will have created your own unique woodland squirrel ready for you to take home or, if you can part with it, to give to someone as a special gift. A fun, creative and inspiring day! Suitable for any level of experience from beginners upwards.

Comments from previous events:
Thank you for a great venue and course - Felting with Carla Taylor. My first attempt at felting was Christmas 2015 with Carla and she made us feel we could achieve something, and her bubbly personality and enthusiasm encouraged me to enrol on her course again - Jean.
I thoroughly enjoyed the felting course, our tutor Carla was excellent, explaining the process fully, discussing all the types of wool that can be used and their different properties, coming to each of us during the day making sure we were happy with what we were doing and offering advice as and when necessary - Helen.
