Last week Txt Tiles 21, a small group of mixed media artists, visited Kingcombe for their summer workshop. They are a group of artists who have been meeting regularly since the turn of the millennium and now use Kingcombe as the location for all their creative needs, using not only our accommodation, catering facilities and Main Barn workroom but also are naturalistic surroundings to help inspire their artistic nature.
The group are made up of post City and Guilds/Diploma graduates, whose interests range from hand stitching, photography, felting, to creative machine embroidery and knitting.
"We like to take advantage of everything Kingcombe has to offer!"
As group member, Sue Fenwick says, “We meet up three times a year to enjoy each other’s company, progress with our own work, learn new ideas from each other and discuss all types of Art work. Whilst most of us are from Dorset, others travel from Wiltshire, Kent and even the Midlands to take advantage of everything the Kingcombe Centre has to offer.”
We’ve also been hosting a Summer Flowers in Watercolour with Christina Hart-Davies with some incredibly talented work being completed.
